Selection Process for Nightingale Awards Ensures Fairness
To ensure the Nightingale Awards selection process is fair and free from bias, our online application software codes submissions and blocks any identifying or demographic information.
- Each nomination is reviewed by a specialized sub-committee of the Awards Committee. Sub-committee members are seasoned professionals in the specified nursing category. Sub-committee members individually score each nomination using criteria established for the category.
- The top scoring nominations are reviewed again by the committee co-chairs.
- The highest scoring nominees in each category are identified as finalists. The highest scoring finalist is the award recipient. Award recipients’ names are a closely held secret until the evening of the Nightingale Awards Gala, when the announcement is made during the presentation ceremonies.
