How much money is a Nightingale Nursing Scholarship?
- Each scholarship recipient in a clinical (non-PhD) program will be awarded a minimum of $1,000.
- Each recipient of a PhD in nursing scholarship will be awarded a minimum of $4,000.
- The specific dollar amount of each scholarship varies from year to year and is dependent upon sponsor and donor support.
- Scholarships may be used for tuition, books and/or educational fees.
Who is eligible for a Nightingale Nursing Scholarship?
You are eligible if you:
- Are a resident of Pennsylvania and intend to work in PA after graduation.
- Are enrolled in a Pennsylvania State Board-Approved Nursing Education Program, listed in one of these four PDF documents: Practical Nursing Programs Registered Nursing Programs Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Programs Clinical Nurse Specialist Programs High school students may not apply.
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. If you are in your first semester of nursing school during the scholarship application window, submit a partial transcript with your grades thus-far and indicate in your narrative that you are in your first semester.
Which nursing programs and degrees qualify for scholarships?
Scholarships in the following categories will be awarded, provided there are qualified applicants. Click on the degree you are seeking for further information.
- Nursing Diploma
- Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Completion
- Master's Degree – Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), including all specializations: Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), etc.
- Doctoral Degree – including Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Doctor of Nursing Science (DNS), and Doctor of Nursing Education (EdD)
- PhD in Nursing
